Mini Choppers

Building mini choppers is one of the few endeavors combining both artistic and technical skills, creating a piece of art part machine or a machine that is a piece of art. The result of the effort is unique in that the object created is utilitarian in nature and when used efficiently the human rider and mechanism almost become a single unit, all in a work of art.

When building mini choppers you will seldom see two custom built mini choppers that look the same. Each scooter tends to reflect the individual rider's personality, which is what makes mini choppers so interesting. A mini chopper builder must combine the talents of a sketch artist, a welder and metal fabricator, mechanic, electrician, sculptor, painter and businessman or businesswoman which is a rare combination of combined talents that few people possess. This is one reason why so many of the better-built mini choppers are the result of collaborative partnerships or even building teams.

Most of the big motorcycle companies have recently begun to sell them. Even Harley Davidson has one on the market. Other well known companies have also taken to selling the new mini choppers as well. In the late sixties and early 1970's the production of mini bikes became quite popular. From 1968-1972 “The Gemini” and “Maverick” mini bikes were imported from Taiwan, to the U.S. Yamaha motorcycles manufactured these bikes, until unfortunate legal issues arose and the production was halted on these mini bikes. However, these ultra fast mini bikes gave way to the production of mini choppers.

Mini choppers are a cross between the regular sized choppers and the mini bikes similar to those produced by Yamaha in the 1970's. Custom mini choppers are the latest trend throughout the biking community. There are tons of parts to choose from and you can build your own. If you have no experience with choppers, or are unsure how to build your own there is another option available to you as well. You can have the manufacturer design a one based on your own design concept. The most important advantage is, knowing that no one else will ever have a custom mini chopper exactly like your own. It will be distinct to you and your personality, and will be your on road companion for a very long time we are sure. If you build one, remember, the parts you choose to use are of utmost importance. The parts dictate how it will ride.

Depending on the size or type of gas tank, the size of your wheels, etc. your chopper may have a faster speed, or may travel great distances with less wear and tear. You will also want to design your frame, as it is the backbone of your bike, and is essential to the complete design of your chopper. Once you have the parts laid out it is time to think of the body of your mini-chopper. You should have a custom frame for your chopper picked out, and all your parts will be added to make a great bike. Now what you need to think of is the design. There are many ways to design it. Your mini-chopper could have a custom paint job, custom airbrushing, custom flames, or you could simply ask for one with straight colors. Everything depends on you and how you want your mini chopper to look. Be creative and we know once you have your own custom mini chopper you won't be disappointed.
